Ruth Burke
Pilates Instructor & Opera Singer
Specialising in Voice-Informed Movement
Ruth Burke is a certified Pilates instructor and professional opera singer who bridges the worlds of vocal performance and physical wellness. She holds a Bachelor of Classical Music (Vocal Performance) from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, and is currently a Young Artist with West Australian Opera. Ruth has performed as a principal artist with West Australian Opera, the West Australian Symphony Orchestra, and Freeze Frame Opera, and is now expanding her operatic career across the Eastern States and internationally.
Driven by a passion for movement and holistic performance health, Ruth became certified in Pilates with Studio Pilates International — a physio-led, clinical approach that blends classical Pilates with modern science. She currently teaches at The Pilates Lab, one of Perth’s leading studios, and runs her own classes specifically for singers.
Ruth is thrilled to be joining the Create Physiotherapy team, offering specialised one-on-one Pilates sessions for singers and voice professionals. Her work focuses on breath coordination, posture, spinal mobility, pelvic stability, and mind-to-muscle connection. Through private sessions, Ruth supports vocalists in optimising their body–voice connection, preventing strain, and enhancing their performance both onstage and off.
